Red Hand is a bar on the high street in Dalston serving the best beer we can get our hands on. 20 beer lines means plenty of options on tap from the niche to the sessionable. A back bar with 100+ spirits focussing on the small batch and lesser known producers. Simple, quality, accessible cocktails. Creative cheese toasties made in house with top notch French cheese. Super friendly locals fill the place during the week, along with people coming before and after dinner, cinema and gigs nearby; bustling weekend evenings bring a wider crowd and a fun fast-paced service. Sundays are chilled and lovely.

Service is friendly and relaxed, with a commitment to quality, consistency and enthusiasm about our products. Staff are the key to a good work environment and happy customers, so we spend a lot of time training, coaching and supporting our team.

A key part of our identity is putting on events that are fun, interesting, engage our existing customers and draw in new ones. Focussing on our beer, wine, spirits and the small producers we have good relationships with, they often will tie in with our food offer with special toasties and collaborations.

Our cheese toasties are a significant part of our identity as a bar. Whilst they do not take up a massive chunk of the sales mix, they make up for this with impact! This role requires someone to be enthusiastic about food and happy to get stuck in with the food prep, with a keen eye for detail in order to coach the rest of the team to deliver a consistently delicious and attractive result.

AGMs have a big part to play in the management of the site, doing almost everything that a GM does and working as a partnership to develop the business. With 40 hour weeks, there is less time for overlap between GM and AGM so focussed communication and proactivity is key. This is a great position to prepare for being a GM in the future, with plenty of prospects to develop in a steadily growing company.

We like to spend money on training and development, sending people on management training courses, natural wine training, WSET spirits training, Level 3 Food Safety courses, Mental Health First Aid training, as well as on-site spirits and wine tastings, off site beer festivals, wine shows, spirit showcases and more.

As a wider company, Grace Land has 6 other sites: The Black Heart, The Earl of Essex, The Kings Arms (in Bethnal Green), The Axe, and The Bethnal Green Tavern, and now our own brewery and bar, Saint Monday. A new pub is on the way too in Gospel Oak. The plan for the future is for steady, organic growth.

We believe work-life balance is important and that the hospitality industry is lagging behind a bit on this. We have 40 hour per week contracts, with salaries that are still competitive, to help stop burnout, increase productivity and to simply have a nicer time.
